Wedding Decoration Tips

If there’s a wedding in your future whether yours or for someone you’re helping, here are some things to take into consideration when trying to decide what kind of wedding decorations to use:

- Budget Constraints
- Reception Location
- Time of Year
- Wedding Theme
- Bride’s Likes (or dislikes)

If the bride to be is looking to be as cost conscious as possible, then you’ll want to focus on more simple styles of decorating. You may need to make the decorations by hand. If money is no object then you can focus on the other aspects of decorating for the wedding.

Regardless the budget you have to work with try to choose wedding decorations that will incorporate the wedding theme, not be overpowering for the venue chosen, and the season. If it’s the middle of winter, perhaps choosing a “surf’s up” theme may not be the most appropriate decorating idea. People should notice the decorations, but not be distracted by them. Lastly, make sure the bride to be loves the chosen decorations.

Wedding Decoration Budget Ideas

Your wedding can be perfect, but at the same time does not have to break your wallet. Once you know your budget, start your shopping by comparing prices at different stores. Look for items that are on sale, clearance, or that come from other sources that you might not expect. Thrift stores are a gold mine of places to get items at a low price that are as good as what you find in department stores. If you are able to make some of the decorations yourself, consider hitting your local arts and crafts outlet for fake flowers, ribbon, and related supplies that can be turned into beautiful accessories for your wedding.

Many times you can catch clearance sales on seasonal decorations that can accentuate the wedding. Fake flowers have the advantage, in this case, of lasting longer than real flowers and look similar. They are also less expensive, don’t require any maintenance, and you also avoid delivery charges. This way, you can decorate on a limited budget for your wedding.
