Wedding Decoration Tips

If there’s a wedding in your future whether yours or for someone you’re helping, here are some things to take into consideration when trying to decide what kind of wedding decorations to use:

- Budget Constraints
- Reception Location
- Time of Year
- Wedding Theme
- Bride’s Likes (or dislikes)

If the bride to be is looking to be as cost conscious as possible, then you’ll want to focus on more simple styles of decorating. You may need to make the decorations by hand. If money is no object then you can focus on the other aspects of decorating for the wedding.

Regardless the budget you have to work with try to choose wedding decorations that will incorporate the wedding theme, not be overpowering for the venue chosen, and the season. If it’s the middle of winter, perhaps choosing a “surf’s up” theme may not be the most appropriate decorating idea. People should notice the decorations, but not be distracted by them. Lastly, make sure the bride to be loves the chosen decorations.

Wedding Flower Decoration Decisions

There are so many different decorations out there for weddings that I’m glad I’m not a bride! If I were, however (and soon I will be as well as most women in this world), I’d have to face the options. There are flowers which are a staple for almost every wedding. You can find these at any flower shop, obviously, but check out your town’s website or ask around to find out the best price and best quality. If you’re not familiar with flowers then I wouldn’t try to put the flowers together yourself. Hire a professional! Then you have the centerpieces, tablecloths, aisle runner, and all of those other things that make your wedding beautiful. You can find all of these things at any craft store but if you want some that are more expensive and are more quality then you should probably go to a wedding planner or a more professional decorating store. Wedding decorations are so important so if you aren’t familiar with the decorating process then hire someone!

Wedding Decoration Budget Ideas

Your wedding can be perfect, but at the same time does not have to break your wallet. Once you know your budget, start your shopping by comparing prices at different stores. Look for items that are on sale, clearance, or that come from other sources that you might not expect. Thrift stores are a gold mine of places to get items at a low price that are as good as what you find in department stores. If you are able to make some of the decorations yourself, consider hitting your local arts and crafts outlet for fake flowers, ribbon, and related supplies that can be turned into beautiful accessories for your wedding.

Many times you can catch clearance sales on seasonal decorations that can accentuate the wedding. Fake flowers have the advantage, in this case, of lasting longer than real flowers and look similar. They are also less expensive, don’t require any maintenance, and you also avoid delivery charges. This way, you can decorate on a limited budget for your wedding.

Wedding Decor on a Budget

Everyone knows that the decorations are what set the atmosphere for a wedding. They add that sparkle and can bring the wedding guests to a different dimension. Lighting is a major factor whenever it comes to creating a special setting. Turn of those flourecent overhead lights! Use the tea lights that you got as decorations for your table. This is a cheap way to really add to your setting. Another way to really add that extra layer is to have as many personalized items such as placards and favors as you can. The great thing about these is that they are usually created out of paper which means that they can pack more punch for the money that you put into them. If you make sure to use the same font then it will also add a layer of professionalism to them. It also makes it easy to have labels created to go with your theme if you have a set font and graphic style. This would normally come from your invitations.

Choosing Wedding Decorations

It can be hard to know where to start whenever it comes to picking out your wedding decorations. The first thing that you should decide on is the theme of your wedding. This will help you decide on what type of decorations you will choose. When you know this it makes it a lot easier to rule things out. Yes I say rule out because there are so many choices. You should first build a list of choices. Fresh flowers or different item for example. Elegant or bold. These are stylistic choices. If you know you want a formal wedding it makes it easy to rule out casual. If you know the colors you want to use then you can rule out other colors. This makes the decision making process much simpler and will keep it from overwhelming you while ensuring that you end up with a beautiful wedding that you wanted down to the last detail.
